Q97019608 is categorised as a PEP. However, this is not a government position, but a position at a broadcaster and not really a politician
There are some non-Dutch offices as well:
- Flemish minister of Agriculture (Netherlands) – EveryPolitician
- Flemish Minister of Energy (Netherlands) – EveryPolitician
And there are a lot of duplicates, but I cant post more links
Hey! Thanks for pointing these out. I’ve fixed the broadercaster position - still need to figure out what makes those positions Dutch ![]()
lol:
The Wikidata item for Flanders (Q234) carries three separate P17 (country) claims — Belgium (Q31), France (Q142) and Netherlands (Q55)
Looks like we need to special-case Flanders as “not a real place we can reason about” ![]()
Ah, I see now. It should have been categorised as a different Flanders (Q9337), so then it works
Do you know how duplicates like Prime Minister (Netherlands) – EveryPolitician can be removed? I don’t see any link to WikiData
No this is a really weird infra problem we have when we bring together the same info from multiple sources (Austria has four President positions right now). Our tech right now is much better at merging people/companies than it is at merging positions.
If one of them really haunts you, please feel free to drop it in this Google sheet: Suggested merges - Google Sheets - but ultimately it’s a problem where we’ll need to build better matching tech.
Turns out there a few more “Flanders”: [wd_peps] Don't derive positions' countries from multi-country regions by pudo · Pull Request #5299 · opensanctions/opensanctions · GitHub
